16 bus and Postbus routes connect the main municipalities in the Glatt valley, Zürcher Unterland and Zurich Oerlikon regions to the airport. Departures range from every 10 minutes to hourly.

The covered bus terminal at Zurich Airport is the largest in Switzerland and has direct access to the check-in areas and the Airport Shopping.

Glattalbahn tram service

The no. 10 tram runs every 7 1/2 or 15 minutes directly from the airport to Zurich’s main railway station via Glattpark, Oerlikon and Irchel.

The no. 12 tram runs from the airport to Stettbach station via Glattbrugg and Wallisellen station. It runs every 15 minutes and offers many interchange options for destinations across the network. The no. 12 tram provides a fast, comfortable and inexpensive service through the Glatt valley. One ticket for Zone 121 is all you need for the whole of the no. 12 tram route.

Winter sports transport

Special buses are on hand to transport you comfortably to your winter sports destinations. They operate early in the morning and ferry passengers to Zurich Airport from central Switzerland before the first public transport connections of the day.

From the airport directly to the ski slopes: throughout the winter season, special buses will take you to destinations in the Swiss Alps and just across the border. Information regarding timetables and prices can be obtained directly from the operators.

Public transport

With around 350 rail connections and over 700 bus and 400 tram departures a day, Zurich Airport is considered to be one of the best-connected locations in Switzerland. Thanks to this excellent public transport links, Zurich Airport can be reached quickly and easily from everywhere.

The SBB travel centre is located below the Airport Center in the Check-in 3 area. The ticket counters are open from 06:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Arriving passengers can purchase tickets from the machines in customs halls 1 and 2. There are also more ticket machines directly next to the SBB travel centre.
